Jayson Boebert, the ex-husband of Republican lawmaker Lauren Boebert, was arrested Tuesday on assault and weapons charges. This arrest came just days after Jayson called the police on his ex-wife alleging that she had abused him in a restaurant in Colorado. Clearly, things didn't play out the way that most people thought, as Jayson is the one that has now been hit with criminal charges.
Also, Donald Trump is going to ruin any chance he may have of getting off with a lighter punishment in the New York fraud trial by giving his own closing arguments when the case commences. According to reports, the former President will deliver his own version of a closing statement, and the second that he starts ranting about a "witch hunt" or anything political, it'll be game over for his company in New York.
And Donald Trump, along with one of his co-defendants, has launched a new conspiracy theory in Georgia with the aim of getting all the charges dismissed. The new theory claims that Fulton County DA Fani Willis was having an affair with one of her fellow prosecutors, and Trump says that this means she's somehow "compromised" and therefore all the charges must be dropped. Trump and his allies have provided no evidence to back up their claims, so this will likely go nowhere.
Finally, following his hearing on immunity in front of the DC Circuit Court, Donald Trump gave a press conference that left many legal scholars shivering. While speaking to the press, Donald Trump predicted that there would be "bedlam" in this country if he is not given immunity, and the experts agree that this was a thinly-veiled attempt to rally his supporters to riot if he doesn't win the case (which is already a foregone conclusion.)
