Fox News is doing everything they can to downplay Donald Trump's failing cognitive functions as the media starts highlighting them, and over the weekend they decided to launch a new idea as to why he's slipping. It isn't because he's getting older or because of the stress of his trials - instead, the network claims that his flubs are simply the result of bad teleprompters (which Trump doesn't use at his rallies.) This makes no sense at all, but Fox is grasping at straws to defend him.
Also, according to a new book, Sidney Powell was actually a little reluctant to help Donald Trump with his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and she actually tried to get "six to eight" preemptive pardons in order to carry out her work. She didn't get the pardons, and she still worked for him, but her request is proof that she knew she was going to have to bend the law - if not completely break it - in order to do what Trump wanted her to do.
And Donald Trump has vowed to appeal last week's $83 million judgement against him in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial, but legal experts are already pointing out that Alina Habba screwed up so badly in court that he has no room to appeal. Due to several mistakes that Habba made, an appeal has little to no chance of being successful because, as one expert explained, you aren't allowed to correct your own mistakes during an appeal.
Finally, Kari Lake's secret recording of the now-former head of the Arizona Republican Party led to his resignation last week. Over the weekend, Republicans in the state gathered to select a new leader, and Lake was loudly booed by the crowd when she took the stage. Lake is finding out very quickly that the Republicans in the state don't like her, and what she did to the chairman that they actually did like isn't sitting well with any of them.
