During a townhall event this week, Marjorie Taylor Greene laughed at an idea shouted out by an audience member to give the death penalty to Democrats and basically anyone that doesn't agree with the MAGA ideology. This began when one attendee suggested that Democrats should be tried for treason, although the man couldn't provide any reasons why these prosecutions should happen. But it was Greene's laughter at the idea of executions that really stole the show.
Also, a veteran FBI counterintelligence official has come forward with shocking allegations about the politicization of the Department of Justice - except it isn't the weaponization of the government that Republicans wanted to find. The whistleblower claims that his superiors ordered him to STOP investigating Trump's allies, including Rudy Giuliani, during the Trump administration.
And finally, Donald Trump's newest lawyer, John Lauro, has not done him any favors with his recent string of media appearances. But now legal experts are saying that the media appearances aren't just bad for Trump's case - they may actually be illegal! The District of Columbia where the Trump trial is being held has very strict rules about what lawyers are allowed to say in the media, and experts believe that Laruro's statements clearly violated those laws.
