We might be used to politicians lying to us everyday in America, but people in other countries are looking at us like we are a bunch of braindead hicks that can't tell fiction from fact. Non-Americans are actually shocked by frequency and audacity of the lies of our politicians, and even more so by the fact that voters keep falling for it.
Also, Lauren Boebert's campaign advisers were hoping that she could settle down and stop being so outrageous - and that was BEFORE the whole Beetlejuice scandal. Things are getting worse for Boebert, as her Democratic opponent announced a massive campaign haul for the third quarter of the year, completely eclipsing what Boebert has raised. Her chances of being reelected are getting worse at a staggering rate.
And during the last minute attempt to avert a government shutdown (which really just kicked it 45 days down the road), Republican lawmakers slipped an amendment into the bill that many believe is a pay raise for members of Congress. In fact, many in the media reported on the "pay raise amendment" as if it were the truth. But, as usual, the truth is actually far more complicated than that.
And finally, we've seen plenty of state races in recent years where a high-profile Democrat outraises their Republican opponent in fundraising (Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Mitch McConnell's races in recent years), only for the Democrat to get soundly defeated. The problem is that a lot of this money comes from out of state - from people who obviously don't get to vote in those races. So is it worth it for Democrats to send money to candidates in races where they can't vote?
