Republican Congressman Eli Crane offered up some great advice for American voters as we head into election season: Stop voting for Republicans! That may sound weird coming from a sitting Republican lawmaker, but that doesn't mean that it isn't good advice, even if Crane was giving it for the wrong reasons. Crane was so fed up with his own Party for NOT shutting down the government, that he urged voters to "stop sending" Republicans to Congress.
Also, Lauren Boebert got ripped to shreds by a local news anchor in her home state of Colorado last week for taking credit for legislation that she actually voted against. Boebert is one of many Republican lawmakers that are bragging about projects in their district that are being funded by President Biden's infrastructure bill, even though Boebert voted AGAINST the measure, and therefore voted to NOT fund those projects in her district.
And, Marjorie Taylor Greene may have been the one to file the motion to vacate the House Speakership, but Matt Gaetz is the one getting all the blame. Former Republican lawmakers and advisors are trashing Gaetz for "opening the floodgates" for this kind of behavior, even as Gaetz swears that it was different when he did the same thing to Kevin McCarthy last year. But this really is Gaetz's fault when you consider the facts.
Finally, Donald Trump's Truth Social (part of Trump Media and Technology Group) is about to be merged with Digital World Acquisition, and reports say that Trump could make as much as $3.4 billion on the deal. But there is a very big caveat that comes along with that number, and the likelihood that Trump even gets a billion dollars is insanely low. Reality is about to set in for investors, and that is going to cost Trump A LOT of money.
