A new poll from The Daily Mail asked voters what words come to mind when they hear the names Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Trump posted his own results on his Truth Social platform this week, and the biggest words - those most frequently used to describe him - were "revenge," "dictator," "power," and "dictatorship." In spite of the negative connotation of those words, Trump proudly displayed it for the world to see. He's leaning into his desire to be a dictator rather than hiding it.
Also, the hosts at Fox & Friends on Fox News are furious that President Biden is on vacation during the holidays because, as they believe, he should be sitting in The White House worrying about being impeached. They also say that there are mountains of other problems he could be dealing with. The irony is that these same people didn't say a word when Trump spent one out of every five days in office on vacation.
And Republican Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa announced recently that the state would NOT be continuing with a program to feed hungry children in the summer months because $40 per month per family was "not sustainable." This is the same woman who announced a huge reduction in the corporate tax rate just a few months ago, so apparently there's plenty of money in Iowa for tax cuts, but not enough to feed starving children
Finally, a political strategist named Simon Rosenberg has made a bold prediction that is garnering headlines this week. Rosenberg says that the US Supreme Court could, in really just a matter of days, completely put an end to Donald Trump's third run for the presidency. Rosenberg is referring to the Colorado case that the Supreme Court will be hearing, and if the Court goes with the Colorado Supreme Court, it really could be game over for Trump. But could the Court ACTUALLY do that? Farron provides some possible answers to that question.
