Donald Trump has been caught moving money around his bank accounts, even though he was expressly forbidden from doing so without alerting a court-appointed financial monitor. The financial monitor brought this to the court's attention this week, saying that Trump has apparently been moving money around to pay for tax bills and lawsuits without giving the legally-required notice.
Also, during an appearance on Newsmax this week, Republican Representative Clay Higgins from Louisiana issued a direct threat to special prosecutor Jack Smith, explicitly saying that his "days were numbers" because the public will stand "idly by" as he continues his investigation. His comments read almost like a call to action for the MAGA crowd, and whether he intended to or not, that's likely how many of them will take it.
And former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy sat down for an interview with The Daily Mail this week, and he strongly suggested that Matt Gaetz's days in Congress could be coming to an end very soon. While he didn't give any specifics, McCarthy said that based on what he's seen in the ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz, it looks like Gaetz's actions were "worse than George Santos," as McCarthy put it. Things are getting interesting.
Finally, one of Donald Trump's lawyers told special prosecutor Jack Smith that he informed Trump that ignoring or otherwise not complying with the subpoena for the classified documents he was hoarding was illegal, but Trump did it anyway. This is a very damning statement for Trump's defense in the documents case, which is likely why Judge Aileen Cannon continues to slow-walk it to trial in order to protect Trump from the inevitable.
