Multiple co-defendants in the Georgia case have filed motions to get their trials expedited, with the judge already granting one defendant an October trial. All of the people who have filed these motions acted as lawyers for Donald Trump, and more are expected to make similar requests in the coming days. There's a very good reason that the former President's lawyers want to go to trial before he does, and it could completely destroy his only legal defense.
Also, former Trump lawyer Alina Habba continues to prove that she might actually be the dumbest lawyer in all of America. During an interview on Sunday, Habba claimed that Donald Trump isn't worried about trial prep because he's "incredibly intelligent", unlike the "average person." This comment could come back to haunt her and Trump as prosecutors can use this statement to prove the need for an early trial date. Habba isn't doing her former client any favors by stroking his ego.
And finally, Donald Trump is not happy that he's facing a mountain of legal problems and President Biden isn't. But he's decided to ignore the fact that he's beyond corrupt and Biden isn't, and instead he got on Truth Social to demand that Republicans in the House get moving on impeaching Biden immediately. He also sent a threat along with his request, telling Republicans to get busy or "fade into oblivion." It isn't clear what that means, but it probably isn't good.
