This week's guest is Tina Aquila Posteraro, a Vancouver, B.C. based luxury boudoir photographer who reminds us how beautiful and whole we already are. Tune in for the juiciest conversation about self-love, self-appreciation, and tapping into the magic of our femininity.
Here are this week's key takeaways:
It’s not the reflection in the mirror that’s the problem. It’s your perception of your reflection. Zoom out. The big picture is so beautiful. You are a masterpiece, a work of art.
We have to learn how to love ourselves again (or for the first time) for the sake of the little humans we’re raising. It’s important we lead by example that self-love should be the norm.
It’s so important to get back in touch with the feminine part of you that wants to receive rather than always give. The part that wants to indulge themselves in whatever magic is there in that moment, and outside of that moment.
Our bodies are not trends. We try to shrink ourselves when the trend is skinny. We try to change our bodies to be more curvy, and back and forth with the trends. What are we chasing? At the end of the day, what we want is to feel loved and accepted. And as women with what we’ve been exposed to, we think it has everything to do with what we look like. Trends will always change and your body is not a trend. We have to learn to love ourselves now.
Show up as yourself and it’s all okay. You’ll repel the people who aren’t for you and attract the people who are for you. To be around people who love and accept us, we have to show up as who we really are.
You are whole exactly the way you are. You are beautiful exactly the way you are.
The way we do one thing is the way we do everything. If you don’t believe in yourself in one area of your life, you can carry that over into other areas of your life. It’s never just one part of us, it’s all of us.
Investing in yourself is so important. It affirms, I am worth spending this time or money on. You’re telling the universe, I go first, when you take the leap and have the courage to invest in yourself.
