- artificial sweeteners
- citrus
- tomato based foods
- spicy foods
- Not all of these foods/drinks are going to be YOUR irritants. Each of them can affect people differently so test it out and figure out which of these bother your bladder before you decide to eliminate them.
- I don’t typically have my patients cut them out completely - instead I have them drink more water
- Water is key in helping to dilute these irritants in the bladder to keep it happier
- Don’t forget - sip your water, don’t gulp it! Chugging a whole bottle of water does not work inside your body the same as slowly sipping it over time. Your body will process all the extra water out as waste if you consume it too fast.
