Description

This pep talk is for the mamas that feel over scheduled, exhausted, and burnt out from the war they're losing with their calendar.

I mean think about it, as an adult, how exhausting does it feel to be over scheduled? We feel this way ourselves, and we even have the capacity (for the most part) to manage and execute on all of it. Just think about how over scheduled children are these days...does it make you wonder what kind of impact it has on them?

My reassurance in this podcast is that you're not denying your child opportunities, relationships, experiences by saying no every once in a while.

You actually do your child a favor when you protect their time and energy by saying no.

We've almost developed a fear of missing out FOR our children as their parents. But at the expense of what?

Let's value building character not only through team sports, school activities, and various other extracurriculars, but also through purposeful rest. Intentionally slowing down to instill values in our children in things like faith, nutrition, movement, conversation, home management, and rest.  There's lots of perks to getting our children involved and filling the calendar with activities. But there's also so many perks to slowing down and letting our children just be children.

If you're feeling over scheduled, exhausted, and burnt out from the go-go-go of your calendar, maybe it's time to start saying no.
