Society can, intentionally or unintentionally, send us a message in motherhood that "it should be that hard." It can make us want to hide our exhaustion, burn out, lack of balance, or faults because we're embarrassed or because it feels like everyone else is doing so much better.
This message sets a mom up for failure.
Because the reality is that you can feel exhausted, burnt out, off balance, and drained and still be a really great mom. Our expectation shouldn't be that this journey is all sunshine and rainbows if we're doing it right.
Exhaustion and struggle aren't badges of honor, but they are our truth. And the way society glamorizes motherhood can become poison to our thoughts and expectations.
Mama, this role is the hardest job you'll ever have in your entire life. It's not supposed to be easy and most times, it won't be.
No matter what you believe or where you source your strength on the hard days, motherhood is a ministry. It's literally defined by sacrifice. No one ever promised it would be easy, but it will absolutely be worth it.
Don't let society trick you into thinking it should be all of the beautiful without all of the challenge. Your journey being tough does not mean you're failing. It means you, indeed, are a mom. And those constant battles you fight are real.
But they're worth it.
Your motherhood ministry is your greatest contribution to the world.
Your children are not the inconvenience, mama.
Don't believe the lies society is telling you - you're doing an amazing job.
