Two things that fail us big time in the United States when it comes to motherhood are social media and our healthcare system.
They both set us up for failure through unrealistic expectations, lack of support, and just leave us feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and alone. I see this time and time again with the moms I help 1-on-1.
While I can't take all of these stressors from them, what I've found is that I can help them realize that these stressors are actually their superpowers. And I can help them shift their perspective while we work to alleviate some of the culprits.
It's a message I want to share with all moms:
Our struggles are actually our superpowers if we shift our perspective.
And if you want to take back control, it starts with realizing this power.
On this episode, I share 10 things you can consider implementing as a mom to help you use your superpowers to overcome these struggles. All simple, but effective, options. I highly encourage you to pick one or two to begin to implement in your own life.
It's not us against our kids, or our schedules, or our lack of sleep. Struggle is just a natural component of motherhood. The fact that you struggle isn't unique - EVERY mom feels it at some time or another, or even what feels like all the time.
What the real battle is, is us against this heavy, negative, unrealistic expectation that we put on ourselves.
Once we realize the lies we're telling ourselves, we can tap into our superpowers and take back control. One step at a time, one habit at a time, one deep breath at a time, maybe even just one "no" at a time.
Because we don't need to be ALL of the things at once. We just need to be where our feet are.
