In this episode I share my experience loosing someone very dear to me and the stages I went through dealing with his loss.
At some point, everyone will have at least one encounter with grief. It may be from the death of a loved one , the loss of a job, the end of a relationship, or any other change that alters life as you know it. Normally the 5 stages of grieving are : denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, and often we think they will happen in order, moving from one stage to the other but not always happened that way.
Denial: It’s not unusual to respond to the strong and often sudden feelings by pretending the loss or change isn’t happening.
Anger: It is hiding many of the emotions and pain that you carry and a masking effect of denial.
Bargaining: It is common to create a lot of “what if” and “if only” statements in the bargaining stage of grief.
Depression: also known as the quiet stage of grief and we can easily stay there for a long time if we get stuck and don't ask for help.
Acceptance: This doesn't mean you will be suddenly happy again, what means is that you come to realize that there are more good days than bad day.
It is important to remember that we all grief differently, Grief is a personal, nuanced, and complicated process that will not look the same for any two people who are grieving. Grieving is a highly individual experience; there's no right or wrong way to grieve. Allow yourself time to process all your emotions, and when you are ready to speak about your experiences, do so.
