This week we sat down with the Third Horn of the New York Philharmonic, Leelanee Sterrett! She walks us through her journey from growing up in northern Michigan, to going to school at Interlochen Arts Academy, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Yale before landing in the New York Philharmonic in 2013.
We also unpack how she's been navigating the pandemic as a teacher, orchestra musician, and just as a human being. From building a new practice routine, switching to teaching her students at Rutgers and NYU online, and working through these changes at the New York Philharmonic as a member of the Artistic Advisory Committee, the world is clearly shifting and it's incredible to hear Leelanee's perspective on everything.
