Even if you don’t recognize the name Jay Jennings, there’s a fairly good chance you’ve heard him play trumpet with either of his current bands, Snarky Puppy or backing up Toby Keith, or with any number of acts he’s performed with in the past from James Taylor and Jon Bon Jovi to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Jay has been fortunate to play in several genres of music, especially right now touring with Snarky Puppy which is a funk/jazz oriented group and simultaneously working in the horn section with country superstar Toby Keith. He is also a Yamaha trumpet artist and Denis Wick artist as well.
This is an incredibly unique interview for this podcast simply because of Jay’s open personality and his widely varied musical background, and it’s definitely not one to miss, especially during these crazy times.
