I'm going back to the KELOWNAFORNIA and chatting with two of my favourite Okanagan queers, Sparkle, and Dustyn! Evan and I lived in Kelowna almost two years ago before coming to Toronto and it was quite...something. Lol. Definitely one of the more challenging times in our life. But that didn't stop some amazing things from happening. I got to work with them to create the first-ever monthly queer event at a nightclub called FRUITCAKE and the first-ever pride event at Big White Ski Resort called PEAK PRIDE. It was a lot of firsts for us and a really exciting time. We reminisce about our creative time together, the perks and pitfalls of being creative in such a small scene, THE ANTI MASK RALLIES that happen WEEKLY in Kelowna, and why moving to the Okanagan is a GOOD IDEA for anyone who wants to live THE SIMPLE LIFE, henni.
