Welcome to La Jolla Pres Online Worship, we're excited that you're joining us! Today is the second Sunday of Advent, Pastor Paul is preaching, and we celebrate Communion. This Season we're looking at the Christmas story through the lens of the old testament prophets; The prophets of the Old Testament knew that the Messiah was coming. As they shared God’s word with Israel they spoke of the one who would help people know how to walk in God’s paths. They spoke of a righteous savior who would delight and rejoice in his people and would be the messenger of God’s covenant.
The text is Jeremiah 33:10-17, and the sermon title is Our Righteous Savior. The prophet Jeremiah declares, "“‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’
