This Week's Announcements:
Good morning and happy Sunday! Welcome to our September 22nd, 2019 service from La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Today Rev. Dr. Paul Cunningham is preaching, and shares a message titled, “What it Means to Be Holy” it’s the 2nd week of the Fall sermon series titled, “Stranger in a Strange Land - Finding Hope in 1st Peter”. Today we’re looking at the theme of holiness as found in 1 Peter chapter 1, verses 13-21. If you would like to connect with our church, you can find our website at LJPres.org. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.
We kick off the sermon with Paul interviewing Jesse Vigil, the San Diego City Director of Big Table, our mission partner serving the needs of restaurant and hospitality workers in our neighborhood. Jessie is asking where we eat out, so Big Table can target the places we care about. If you would like to participate, e-mail your top 3-5 restaurants in La Jolla or PB to Jesse at jesse@big-table.com.
Growth Groups are starting this week as we get into the sermon series on 1st Peter. Growth Groups are a great way to get connected, find friendships, and grow spiritually. You can find some open groups on the website at ljpres.org/group.
La Jolla Pres is going green with Solar. We are excited to launch a solar project on the roof of the life center and children’s wing. The solar power project will be great for the environment, and also save the church $40,000 a year for many years to come. You can learn more about this project and get involved in making it happen at ljpres.org/solar.
You can find a complete listing of what’s going on around La Jolla Pres on our website at ljpres.org, that’s l-j-p-r-e-s dot o-r-g, or call the church office at (858) 454-0713.
