On this episode, I got the honor of interviewing my last brass caption head I had in the activity while I was at The Blue Knights, Keith Tye! Keith has done and still continues to do so much in the activity, so we had a lot to talk about in this one! Keith marched with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in 2011, and then from there going to march with Carolina Crown from 2013-2016. His teaching career began right away in 2017 with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and then he became the assistant and eventual brass caption head for The Blue Knights from 2018-2022, and most recently he was the brass caption head for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for their 75th anniversary show and will return on staff for the 2024 season. I got to be a big nerd in this episode asking about everything Carolina Crown from 2013-2016, talking growing pains during the first couple years in the activity, how teaching came into the picture and how it’s changed Keith’s life and finally wrapping up with a discussion on where DCI is today!! It’s been a while since we’ve had a long interview like this, but I promise you it’s worth every second to watch!!!
