Description

People who engage with Guided Imagery and Music (GIM), a type of music therapy,  are called "travelers" because the process takes them on a powerful journey through their own psyche.

GIM is one of the modalities today's guest, Jennifer Worthen, uses in her counseling practice.Music is one of the first ways she awakened to the healing power of non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Jen has also apprenticed in indigenous spiritual healing traditions and has been traveling on her own spiritual journey her entire life.

Jen holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Radford University, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Carolina University. She’s a Music Therapist and a Fellow with the Association of Music and Imagery.

Jen has been working passionately in the healing arts in some capacity for over 20 years. She currently operates a small private practice where she weaves together her various interests, training, and experiences to bring emotional and spiritual healing to others.

During this conversation, Jen shares a bit about her personal journey. She explains what GIM is and what to expect from a session. She mentions her experience with plant medicines such as san pedro and ayahuasca.

Mentioned in this episode:
