Spike is a friendly hedgehog. As he wanders around the farm lots of animals come up and snuffle around him … (until they see his spikes!) … and then wander off again.
Two children come near to Spike and he quickly rolls up into his prickly ball. Very gingerly, the children pick him up . After a while Spike feels a bit safer and pokes his little nose out. After saying hello, the children carefully put him down and Spike shuffles off to find some more grubs to eat.
