KishaLynn Elliott is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Monarch School Project. The Monarch School is located in San Diego, CA, and is the only educational K-12 public institution in the United States serving exclusively students who are experiencing homelessness or are likely to experience homelessness. It’s a unique partnership between a public school entity, the San Diego County Office of Education, and a non-profit entity that provides wrap-around services to meet the numerous needs of the school’s students.
KishaLynn is also an accomplished speaker and author. In this episode, KishaLynn discusses the resilience she observes in her students and how it was reflected in a longitudinal study, as well as the roles of socioemotional learning, mentors, and teachers, among other topics.
