This week I sit down with Johnnie Ghiglia, a retired law enforcement officer based in Arizona. Along with his son Chase, these two remarkable men set out to make a difference in the LGBTQ+ community by creating and launching OUT IS THE NEW IN, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering support and resources, especially in the area of suicide prevention, mental health and homelessness.
Johnnie shares a heartwarming journey from his early years growing up in a farming town to finding out that Chase was gay to creating a space of love and acceptance for his only son ... not to mention the entire LGBTQ+ community! Johnnie has taken his commitment to being the best dad and ally out into the world through his organization and podcast and is having a profound impact on the lives of those in need.
