Orangefield, Texas, located about twenty miles east of Beaumont started as a small farming community just southwest of Orange, Texas. Its transformation began in 1913 when oil was discovered, leading to a significant boom in 1922.
In this episode, we will hear from Mr. Jesse Fremont, curator of the Orangefield Cormier Museum. He talks about the origins of this museum which came from the vision of oilman Paul Cormier who had a passion for preserving the unique history of this area, along with collecting and displaying early to mid 1900's Americana.
Mr. Fremont is joined by local REALTOR Stacey Harley, who was a student of his at Orangefield High School and brought this story to our attention. Thank you Stacey!
