Description

Today, we all look to Bolivar Peninsula for rest, relaxation, and fun days at the beach.   However, there was a time when this stretch of land served other purposes, including a winter feeding area for 1,000's of heads of cattle.

In this episode our guest is Mr. Lloyd Maxwell, grandson to E.W. Boyt, a cattle rancher that conducted yearly drives to Bolivar in the early to mid 1900's.  Mr. Maxwell shares the captivating story of these drives and their lifestyle during that time.

He is joined by Mrs. Marie Hughes, director of the Chambers County Museum.  Together they have teamed up to preserve this special moment in history.
