If you've ever travelled on the Galveston ferry, you've no doubt seen the Bolivar Point Lighthouse proudly standing near the ferry landing since the mid-1800's. It has withstood the fierce winds of numerous hurricanes, an accidental shelling from a fort in Galveston, and years of neglect and vandalism.
In this episode, we have Mrs. Amy Maxwell Chase, Executive Director of the Bolivar Point Lighthouse Foundation who shares with us tales from this historic lighthouse and how it has faithfully served mariners navigating into Galveston Bay, as well as served as a shelter during historic storms.
