Good morning, family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
So on with the boots, back out in the snow to the only all night grocery, when what, to my wondering eye, should appear in the line is that guy I've been chasing all year. I'm spending this one alone. He said need a break. This year's been crazy. I said me too. But why are you? You mean you forgot cranberries too. Then, suddenly, we laughed and laughed, caught on to what was happening. That Christmas Magic's brought this tale to a very happy ending.
Jesus, this song reminds me of all the ways, amidst our drudgeries of life, that we long for a happy surprise.
So I thank you for all of the little surprises and the little joys that you give us every day, thank you for the ability to even appreciate them and enjoy them.
But thank you, jesus, most of all for the happiest surprise in all of history
that you showed up.
You came to earth, you came to us.
The surprise is that you want to be with us, that you love us, you want us to be with you,
and for all of the ways there are people that I do not admire and I'm tempted to look down on
all of us, long for someone who we do admire or think fondly of
to have them look upon us fondly in return.
Help us to know that you are the most admirable person ever and that you look fondly upon us and you desire to be with us and for us to be with you.
Jesus helped correct more of our wrong ideas about you
And for that guy I've been chasing down all year, that guy who is the better version of me, help me to keep chasing down the better version of me, who is more like you, and I thank you for all of my loved ones. Thank you for all of your love for each one of us, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
I love you so much!
