Jesus, today, I thank you for our ability to appreciate beauty and the thousands of details that go into making something beautiful.
Please save us from the dual and opposite temptations of caring too much or too little about details.
For all of the ways in which I'm tempted to want to control things
and make everything the way I want it to be
, for all of the ways in which I'm tempted to gluttonies of delicacy, Lord Jesus, free me
For all of the ways in which I'm tempted to laziness and to let things be good enough rather than a job well done. Lord Jesus, free me
For all of the ways that we suffer from the controlling efforts and abuses from other people. Please give us wisdom in how to react and respond to them
, in spite of the sinful behaviors that we cause and that we suffer.
Please help us to look to you and to your example. Help us to see how free you lived from the exertions of other people and yet how you were moved with compassion so many times at every encounter to help other people and to heal them.
Jesus, please lead all of us to an encounter and an experience of you, so that we can know you and trust you and love you and follow you and be more like you.
Please hear the prayers of my loved ones and yours.
