Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, oh, responsible, practical. And then they showed me a world where I could be dependable , oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical.
Jesus, I thank you today for the birds that still sing happily in the trees.
I thank you again for the miracle of life that is beautiful and magical.
Jesus, I thank you that you were with me when they sent me away to the public school industry. I thank you for millions of intricate details of my life. Like Mrs. Craig in fifth grade reading the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and privately explaining that, Aslan the lion... is you.
Jesus, I do have a cynical and a critical spirit deeply embedded.
Please heal me of my critical spirit, of you and of myself and of other people.
Please reset my heart with gratitude at the start of this day and throughout this day and at the end of this day.
And for all of the ways in which I'm tempted to wish that people WERE sent away and learned how to be sensible and responsible and dependable. Jesus, thank you for meeting us where we are at. Thank you for willing our good.
Please help us to use our logic and our reason to place our liabilities and our risks on one side and to place you, the God of the universe, in the plus column. If God is for us, who can be against us?
Jesus, for even two minutes, I do thank you for the difficult people you've placed in my life and the things that you are trying to teach me through them.
I thank you always for the wonderful people in my life and for so many blessings, so many comforts and luxuries and health.
Jesus, I pray in a special way for your comfort and healing of the sick and the suffering, the angry and the anxious, the addicted and the afflicted.
Please remind all of us who we are children of the Most High God, fearfully and wonderfully made in your image and likeness,
that I am a wretched sinner, a liar and a thief, but I am saved by your suffering and sacrifice.
Thank you for willing my good. Help me to will the good of others. Thank you for always being on my side. Help me to be more fully on your side today.
Please hear the prayers of my loved ones and yours and bless them today In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
