The disciples must have been heartbroken so much to see you leaving them once again, but you sent the Holy Spirit to them with power and glory.
Please let every day be Pentecost again for each of us.
And at the start of this day, God, the Holy Spirit, come upon us with thunder and lightning and tongues of flame.
Please put the fire back into our eyes and into our lives.
Please help us to see through the clouds and see through the darkness.
Please help us to look at Jesus on the cross and to believe in his love for us
And God, the Father, who did not withhold his only son. What would he not give us?
And for all of the ways in which I feel like I am not enough
and I don't measure up
and that is true
and I have laid up heavy burdens upon myself
Please help me and each of us, to be strengthened again by your love.
Today, God, the Holy Spirit, please resurrect all that seems lost
, our lost hopes and dreams
, this world that seems too far gone
, for relationships that seem too far gone.
Please give us new strength and zeal.
Please fill us with your love for each other and for you.
