I'm sure you'll have some cosmic rationale, but here you are with your faith and your Peter Pan advice. You have no scars on your face and you cannot handle pressure.
Jesus, thank you for today and thank you for another chance to do better than we did yesterday.
Thank you for another chance to love one another and to love you.
Jesus, you did have scars on your face and over your whole body
, and you did handle pressure like no one ever has or no one else ever could
And I don't know anyone who does not have scars.
So, Jesus, please help us today, please heal the scars in our lives
and please save us from all of the ways in which we heap pressures upon ourselves.
Jesus, when Adam and Eve listened to the devil singing, "You can go your own way." we've been on a course of trying and failing ever since.
Please help us to turn back to you every day.
Help us to turn back to you today
to lay down the burdens that you never intended us to carry.
Please help us to know your ultimate and perfect sovereignty over all things.
Jesus, for those who do face pressure today, this week and this month
, please strengthen and comfort them.
Please calm the storms in their lives.
Please make them to know your love and your will and purpose for their lives.
Thank you for hearing our prayers. Thank you for this Advent season.
