John Hatch is an architect who specializes in historic preservation design and the adaptive re-use of historic structures. In his 30 years with Clarke Caton Hintz in Trenton, he has managed the design and rehabilitation of an array of architecturally significant buildings. These include the restoration of Morven, the former governor’s mansion in Princeton, the Roebling Complex Redevelopment in Trenton and the restoration of the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse. His current work includes the rehabilitation of the former Adam Exton and Sons Cracker Factory in Trenton as 18 loft condominium units using cutting edge sustainable design features.
In addition to his historic work, he has managed the design of a large number of school and University studies and projects as well as a wide variety of other structures, including the Somerset Ballpark, the Lawrence Township Police and Courts Building and numerous other commercial and civic projects. He is a graduate of Princeton University, the University of Virginia School of Architecture and he has a Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2014, he was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.
