Cathryn Calhoun is the Director of Education and Community Engagement at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center where she is the head of educational programming, volunteer program, and connecting the community with the center. Cathryn holds a BA in Psychology, MA in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Community Leadership and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Education with a specialization in Organizational Leadership.
Cathryn was a recipient of the New Pittsburgh Courier Fab 40 under 40 award in 2019 for her work in the community and the 2022 recipient of the Ladies Who Lead award presented by the Professional Women’s Network. She currently sits on the Board of Directors with the Point Park Alumni Association as Co-Chair of the DEI Committee and is Chair of the Health and Wellness Committee with the Urban League Young Professionals. Cathryn is also CEO of Constantly Creating, LLC, a business she has created that is dedicated to serving the community especially the youth with educational programming, workshops, music, and dance.
Cathryn is an active Zumba Fitness Instructor who teaches both adults and children the fundamentals of staying fit while having fun through dance. She is a body positive advocate who believes that fitness has no size and continues to share her passion for health and wellness by offering free fitness classes for the community, wellness check-ins, and loves being an accountability partner to all her clients and friends. She enjoys mentoring high school and college age women and hopes to establish her own mentoring program in the future.
