Tona recognized at a young age that she loved helping people. She began assisting the Trenton community by taking on many endeavors. The theme of community empowerment is echoed throughout all of Tona’s work. She recently finished composing her 2nd documentary, “ENOUGH” part 2 of “Why We Didn’t Tell,” a narrative about African American sexual assault survivors. Tona reached the realization that she is a smaller piece of a large puzzle in the undisclosed issue of sexual abuse in the African American community.
Tona feels a calling and responsibility to educate the public about this ever-present, yet under recognized issue. In 2018, Tona organized Trenton’s First Sexual Assault Month Walk it’s been five years and the walk has grown into a worldwide virtual walk. Tona is the founder of R.O.S.A. Rising Over Sexual Abuse. This organization educates people about sexual abuse, empowers children and gives a voice to the voiceless.

Ms. Harris is a mother, survivor and advocate. She mentors women 1:1 on work-life balance and inspirational parenting while overcoming adversity and surviving domestic violence. She works tirelessly to continue in helping sister survivors reach their full potential regardless of the barriers violence presents.
Ms. Harris vows to continue her work in helping other women bridge their “From Trauma to Triumph” at Women’s HQ where a culturally specific and holistic approach is combined with evidence-based modalities. Through the programming, primarily Black and brown women in Washington, D. C. will participate in Survivor-centered wellness, career enhancement, and financial literacy programming.
