Description

It’s time to shed light on the stigmas around therapy and mental health in the black Christian community.

In this episode, Jessica Robinson-Grant, a Christian therapist, shares her personal journey navigating mental health, trauma, and therapy within the context of her faith. With a particular focus on the Black faith community, Jessica sheds light on the intersection of faith and therapy, emphasizing the need of addressing mental health issues within this community.

In 2021, Jessica founded Soul Care Christian Counseling and Consulting, a space dedicated to nurturing the mental and spiritual well-being of the black community.  Through her work, she emphasizes the need for mental health support, challenging the stigma and misconceptions around therapy within the black church.

Together, we will delve into Jessica’s journey of discovering her calling as a Christian therapist and the path she took to establish her own practice. Additionally, we'll provide actionable steps on how to prioritize mental and emotional well-being, practical steps to find a therapist and accessing affordable therapy, and the importance of rest and self-care. We will also dive into practical steps on how ministries and churches can integrate mental health education and support into their ministries.

Tune into this conversation with Jessica and Maleah to discover spiritual and practical steps to prioritizing mental health well-being as Christian women.
