Every day, I speak to women who want to stop procrastinating but don’t know how. When they get a new project at work at first they’re excited, but then when it comes time to do it they just can’t get started. There are so many other things to do instead, like scroll through facebook, have a snack, fold socks…
Then as the due date gets closer, panic sets in and they get to work. Some even believe that they do their best work under pressure but that simply isn’t true. They’re just motivated by the fear of not completing the project on time rather than the fear of actually doing it.
This throws them into the unnecessary emotional spin cycle of procrastination and stress.
They end up having to spend late nights at the computer working, time that should be spent with friends and family. They give up sleep in order to get the work done. They snap at their partners and kids because they’re under so much pressure.
But that’s all unnecessary.
