Guest Bio: Fatima Jawaid Marty
Fatima Jawaid Marty is an organizational strategist; and policy & advocacy consultant, who founded FJM Consulting. She is seasoned advocate and policy wonk who has worked in federal advocacy, led state-based campaigns, and is deeply experienced in implementation work with state and federal agencies.
In 2022, after over a decade working in nonprofit organizations, Fatima pursued consulting work as a way to center her career on helping organizations and change-makers build power in our communities; and shift dominant and exclusive systems.
Throughout her career, Fatima has collaboratively led organizations through the development and execution of programs and initiatives. With this expertise, FJM Consulting offers strategic guidance and support as organizations navigate change and growth - whether that is implementing a visionary new strategic plan, shifting programs to center community, or getting new projects off the ground. Fatima’s work is rooted in sustainability, and wants to ensure visions and movements are set up for the long-haul through strategy, planning, and building infrastructure within an organization.
At the forefront of Fatima’s consulting work is the drive to create systems change through the fostering of community power. Fatima truly believes that justice and movement work cannot be done without uplifting community voices, and is passionate about ensuring folks who are directly impacted are integrated into all aspects of policy and advocacy work.
