I swear there are shifts where I just seem like Dr. Death, helping one animal after the other over the rainbow bridge while I handle a stream of pet owners grieving in their own, unique way.
Sometimes it can seem like we play God.
It can be incredibly draining. We feel doubt, regret, grief and on top of that we have to try to be there for the owners.
Society does NOT prepare us for death nor grief, and there is no other profession like ours, with these kinds of struggles.
In this podcast I explain all the struggles I used to have, and then I go through the 4 principles you should have in mind before, during and after euthanasias.
Know that you are NOT alone trying to juggle all these aspects of one of the services we provide that is INEVITABLE for most pets at some point, and also the most emotionally challenging for owners.
