Grandview Church in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Message by Pastor Bob MacGregor from the new Romans series, September 11, 2022. Living in Gospel Power (Romans 1:16-17).

The Epistle of Paul to the Romans has been called his theological “Magnum Opus”. Its pages are in the words of William Tyndale, “a light and a way into the whole scripture”. Nowhere is the gospel message better articulated than in the 7,100 words of this amazing letter. It was the book of Romans that gave light and joy to the heart of a tormented monk named Martin Luther. His plea to the church is “that every Christian should not only know it word for word, by heart, but occupy himself with it every day, as the daily bread of the soul. It can never be read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt with, the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes.”

This Sunday at Grandview, we begin a verse-by-verse adventure in this favourite book of so many great men and women of faith. We will appreciate more and more why Paul was unashamed of the gospel and how it manifests the power of God unto salvation (Ro. 1:16). Our prayer is that we will learn how to live victoriously in the power of the gospel.
