The Christian religion keeps people out of heaven… when it is reduced to mere ritual and rule-keeping. At the heart of Christianity is the gospel, which calls sinners to repent and receive by faith a righteousness that only God can provide. Religion makes us proud of what we have done. The gospel makes us proud of what Christ has done. True Christians “get this” and are motivated by love to serve the God of their salvation.
