A word from Melody:

I preach self-care to my clients CONSTANTLY. “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” “Create and maintain healthy boundaries.” “Engage in honest, direct communication.” “Trust your gut.” And, the most important - “Do what you need to do for you.” So, that’s what I’ve been doing. Crying when I feel it, hibernating when I need rest, going on walks, talking and not talking.

Women are taught to give in, accommodate, acquiesce. Give your life, submit your bodies and suppress your dreams to serve everyone BUT yourself. And if you don’t, you’re shamed and called selfish. I'm not built that way. I can't and won't sacrifice me. I choose me and look forward to the day when a woman choosing her own path, isn't considered radical.

Now, I’m practicing what I’ve preached for so many years…
