A compassionate God is one who is deeply aware of the suffering and needs of His creation and actively moves to alleviate that suffering.
Psalm 103:13: As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. God cares much for His own and His kindness is displayed throughout the Bible.
Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
In“The Reason for God”, Tim Keller writes: “The Christian Gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time.”
