Ceasefire
A ceasefire is an agreement between two groups or countries that are fighting to stop fighting for a certain period of time.

Examples:

On January 27, 1973, the Paris Peace Accords were signed, leading to a ceasefire in the Vietnam War and the withdrawal of U.S. troops.
2-  Many doubted it would last, but the ceasefire held for months, letting aid reach those in need.
