Meet Selina:
Selina is an Olympian, a dual QAS and USA college athlete, an Entrepreneur, Speaker, Youth Leader, and her greatest and latest achievement, a mum. Selina grew up playing a lot of different sports, but found her passion in basketball and volleyball, quickly climbing the ranks, representing Brisbane and Queensland throughout high school for both sports. She ended up with a dual QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport) scholarship for both basketball and volleyball. After high school, Selina was offered a very rare, Dual USA Division 1, five-year Scholarship at Oregon State University, for both basketball and volleyball, which she grabbed with both hands. In 2000, Selina represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Sydney in Indoor Volleyball. And in 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Business, as an honours student. But it wasn’t all roses. Her Olympic dream was destroyed the day before the opening ceremony when she sprained her ankle in their very last training session, and was told by doctors she wouldn’t play. But she did, with the help of the late guru, Peter Brock. Selina battled post Olympic depression. And during the 2011 Brisbane floods, she lost her home and everything in it. For the past 10 years Selina has created and founded 9 businesses, some on her own, some with partners. It has been a massive playground of exploration, learnings and new skill sets. Fast forward, and Selina’s passions and projects today lie in helping our youth build the skills to be more resilient, in which she runs her own Youth Leadership Program. Along with helping people leverage their knowledge online via websites and video courses. She is currently a co-director of a movement called BirthTime, educating women about birth and what is really going on in our maternity systems not only in Australia, but around the world. Selina enjoys the freedom her businesses give her to work from home with her 20 month old daughter, Sienna and soon to be baby #2.

The Podcast's 7th Season
Welcome to In the Game, a podcast where we aim to touch, move and inspire you to what's possible in life. My name is Sarah Maxwell and I am a self-proclaimed relationship engineer. Ever since I was a little girl, I was curious about how people work and how they interact with one another. With a degree in biopsychology representing my country of Canada in beach volleyball. With a degree in biopsychology representing my country of Canada in beach volleyball, retiring from sport into mindset and purpose coaching, I now spend my days running Chatta-box Media, where we aim to story-tell for brands through the medium of podcasting, all while raising an eight-year-old daughter with my partner of 24 years. We are now in season seven of this podcast, featuring a special series on women called who Knew that Was Work aimed at young women who want to broaden their horizon when it comes to career choosing.
Go deeper into the pod and discover incredible stories of changemakers who manifest their dream lives. Gain tangible tools to apply to your own life by scrolling back to that initial season where we were more workbook focused. Have a laugh when we initially were coined the Nat and Sarah show, when my five-time Olympian partner, natalie Cook, and I bantered and had loads of fun interviewing and discovering our common passion individuals who rise to the occasion in life. Okay, now it's time to dive on in to this episode.
