The construction sector relies on a huge number of qualified and competent operatives, managers and Directors to deliver and maintain the built environment. Its training board, the CITB, was set up to support construction companies to achieve this aim. Deborah Madden, Executive Director for Engagement for the CITB, talks to Mark about the organisation, and its role in supporting small and large businesses to help ensure that the industry can respond to the projects and challenges ahead. Deborah describes the organisation in its 60th year, and its approach to engaging with its customers and the importance with which the industry must address its skills and people shortages. Her message is straight forward.
