These businesses for the backbone of the sector, providing the skills required for project delivery. Businesses however have to provide accounts and other statutory returns and they have to meet their customers’ demands, regardless of size. These businesses can struggle to find the bandwidth to tackle all these challenges and provide a competent service. This is where business support, in the form of advisers and trade bodies, comes in.
Maria Coulter is the owner and principal of Construction Coach and provides coaching, mentoring and general support to small businesses. As a trained and experienced quantity surveyor and with over a decade supporting businesses of all shapes and sizes, Maria meets all kinds of challenges. Of particular note at the moment is the IT challenge, where small companies struggle to identify what software they might need to assist in problems that they may not have fully understood.
