This week on the Triathlon Life Unplugged we are back with Kayla, Carolyn, and Elizabeth talking about their experience at Oceanside 70.3, the Ironman Pro Series, Overall, they reflect on their performances and the importance of celebrating and respecting their fellow competitors. In this part of the conversation, the speakers discuss their experiences during a triathlon race and the mental challenges they faced. They talk about how they convinced themselves they were performing poorly during the bike portion of the race, only to find out later that they were actually in better positions than they thought. They also discuss the importance of not getting caught up in comparing themselves to others and how race conditions can affect performance. Kayla discusses her training and the importance of swim mileage in her Ironman preparation. She also expresses her hope to improve her swimming performance. The conversation touches on the size of the pro field and the qualification process.
