Have you ever experienced a moment when God abruptly changed your circumstances, only to later realize it was for your protection? In this deeply personal episode, I share how divine intervention redirected my path when I found myself compromising my Christian witness in the workplace.
My journey began with the inspiration of a woman named Glenda, whose unwavering faith transformed our hospital workplace years ago. She started each morning in prayer at the chapel and maintained such a powerful testimony that people still speak of her "religious" nature years after her passing. When I returned to that same hospital in 2022, I discovered she was gone, but initially tried to carry on her legacy of being a light in that environment.
Something shifted when I transferred to night shift. The witnessing opportunities diminished, and I gradually found myself blending in with workplace culture rather than standing apart. People who once apologized for using inappropriate language around me later found me joining their conversations. God saw this transformation and decided to intervene, removing me from that establishment not as punishment but as protection.
This intervention reminds me that when God grants us testimonies of healing and deliverance—as He has done for me with cancer and other health challenges—these experiences aren't meant to be forgotten. They're tools for encouraging others facing similar battles. When we compromise our witness, we're failing to fulfill the purpose for those testimonies.
As I begin this new podcast season, coinciding with my birthday (my personal New Year), I'm recommitting to staying in God's lane and sharing my testimony without compromise. I'll be interviewing breast cancer survivors, those who've overcome depression, and musicians about their spiritual journeys. I'd love for you to join me and share these conversations with someone who might need encouragement today.
