In this episode, Harriet meets Dr Abhi Bhansali and Registered Dietitian Elaine Macaninch from Culinary Medicine UK (www.culinarymedicineuk.org). We learn about the importance of nutrition education for Doctors and what this means for Dietitians.About our guests:Elaine currently works for Brighton and Sussex Medical School helping to integrate nutrition into the curriculum. She maintains a clinical role as a Registered Dietitian, specialising in diabetes in pregnancy and is co-founder of the Education and Research in Medical Nutrition Network. In addition, she is an executive member of NNedPr Global Centre for Nutrition and is also the nutrition lead and a director for Culinary Medicine UK. She is currently researching gapsin nutrition education from the perspective of medical students and junior doctors and more recently nutrition inequalities and COVID-19. Dr Abhinav Bhansali is the strategic lead and a founding director of Culinary Medicine UK (CMUK). He graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine with first-class honours in healthcare management. Prior to joining the NHS, he worked for Candesic, a boutique healthcare consulting firm, where he developed his project management and analytical skills.He is now a GP trainee in North West London and strongly believes that our current attitude towards health needs to change.
